9:14PM 55 mins: Man City 1-0 Chelsea Chelsea are on the attack now as they look to get back into this. Ziyech puts in a deep cross from the right but it looks to be heading goalward, perhaps mishit, but Ortega manages to get a glove to it and make certain it wasn't going to loop into his net. 9:13PM GOAL! Mahrez! Mahrez scores from the freekick that he won. The Algerian curls it with his left over the wall and right into the near-side of the goal.
A RLC ball finds Pulisic in the box, with the 'LeBron James of soccer' snapping a shot forcing Ortega to drop to his left to keep it out. Sublime. 9:28PM 68 mins: Man City 2-0 Chelsea The lesser spotted quadruple sub is here for Chelsea. Potter really throwing the kitchen sink at this one. Those changes in full are Ziyech, Broja, Zakaria and Chalobah off. Coming on are Cesar Azpilicueta and England trip Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Conor Gallagher. Go well chaps. Raheem Sterling came on against his former team 9:26PM 67 mins: Man City 2-0 Chelsea Grealish with another chance to find the back of the net.
Grealish has dominated the early exchanges 8:14PM 12 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea Loftus-Cheek plays it into Ziyech on the right who gets into the box and pulls the ball back into the path of Christian Pulisic but he hits a tame shot at the keeper. Did Rico Lewis get a tough or put him off? The 'LeBron James of soccer' should have done better with that one. 8:11PM 10 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea A City cross gets cleared but Grealish cushions it, cuts back in onto his right and hits a low hard shot at goal but it's just outside the near post. 8:10PM 8 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea Chelsea attempt to press City and pen them in their own half but Grealish escapes and runs at the Chelsea backline, before playing in Alvarez who shoots from a narrow angle but its's smothered by Mendy. Alvarez loves a shot from a tight angle, is it too soon to call it a trademark effort? Grealish runs at Chelsea 8:09PM 7 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea Broja wins the ball back just in City's half and runs towards goal but selfishly takes a shot, which soars into the stands, rather than playing in Ziyech who was free on the right flank.
Phillips held his position well and snapped into a few tackles to welcome himself back to action. It was a statement to Southgate that he is ready to board the plane next week. "Kalvin made a good 40 minutes, he didn’t play for a long time. He has incredible personality and we will need him in the second half of the season, " said City manager Pep Guardiola. After the game, Phillips said: "It's an amazing feeling. It's been a long time. I'm glad to get back out there and play with the lads. Without playing for a while, it's nerve-racking stepping onto the pitch for one of my first appearances for the club. It felt good. "[It's been] difficult. When I first found out I needed the operation everything went out the window.

8:22PM 20 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea City are in and around the Chelsea box again and Zakaria gets a great block on a Gundogan shot to take the pace off it and let it roll to Mendy. 8:19PM 16 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea A yellow card for Koulibaly. A serious of tight one-twos from City allows Cole Palmer to slide through a ball to Grealish, he taps it past Koulibaly who takes him out. The Chelsea defender gets a yellow but it arguably should have been more, he was the last man and Grealish had an easy shot at goal there. A reminder that there's no VAR in this competition tonight, so there'll be no review of that.
How to watch Chelsea vs Man City - TV channel and live You can watch the match on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. Coverage of the game will begin at 6.30pm, with the game
8:46PM 43 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea What a flurry. Chelsea lose the ball allowing City, more specifically Grealish, into the box but it's stopped and Chelsea are away down the other end. Pulisic carries the ball well, bringing defenders to him like a moth to a flame, then he slides it left to Hall, who shapes to shoot, totally fooling Rico Lewis who flies in, before cutting back on his right and softly hitting the ball at Ortega. A great counter from Chelsea and Hall will be kicking himself that his shot didn't match the quality of his work to get the space to take it. 8:42PM 40 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea Grealish with another shot. He receives the ball from Gundogan just outside the box on the left hand side, cuts back on his right and curls it to the far post but an outstretched Mendy foils him and palms it away.
He's not a bad player you know. 9:43PM 83 mins: Man City 2-0 Chelsea Todd Boehly looking quite bored in the stands as he scrolls through his phone. I reckon he's probably on TikTok, but send your answers in on a postcard. 9:41PM 82 mins: Man City 2-0 Chelsea Good running from Havertz sees him receive the ball on the left of the box but his ball across can't quite find Sterling. 81 mins: Man City 2-0 Chelsea England player watch! By my count there are eight English players on the field now, although I'm not sure Palmer or Lewis are quite ready for selection yet. All looking good health-wise so far but please, Pep, take off Grealish now. 9:39PM 80 mins: Man City 2-0 Chelsea It's City sub time now, with Laporte making way for Nathan Ake, with the Dutchman coming on to face his former team. 9:38PM 79 mins: Man City 2-0 Chelsea One thing Chelsea can't afford it to concede another and it looked dicey just then.
8:39PM 37 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea Broja gets into the City box, beats Laporte but the Frenchman gets a touch on it and pokes it away. Dias slides in and tries to get his arms out the way but they look to hit the ball. The ref doesn't see it though, and remember, we don't have VAR today, so play on.
Chelsea have been second best for the bulk of the game but Christian Pulisic looks like the guy most likely to break the deadlock for them. He's been a threat when he's been running with the ball and it makes you wonder why he doesn't play more reguarly. Special praise too for Lewis Hall, with the Chelsea youngster outplaying some far bigger names in his team's midfield. He looks like a real star of the future. Grealish has been the best player on the park so far 8:47PM HT: Man City 0-0 Chelsea One minute of added time but nothing comes of it. The ref whistles and the players go down into the tunnel.

8:37PM 35 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea We've had a great matchup between two youngsters tonight with Lewis Hall getting the better of his fellow England U-19 international Rico Lewis. The Chelsea man has been one of their better players so far. Lewis Hall getting the better of Rico Lewis 8:32PM 30 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea City are just outside the box and Rodri shapes up to shoot, before playing it out on the right to Lewis, but the youngster doesn't get his head up and his ball across the box doesn't head to anyone. You'd have fancied the Norwegian to have been on the end of that if he were on the pitch. 8:30PM 28 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea Almost the opener! City play the ball from right to left and Gundogan spots an Alvarez run, he slips the Argentine through but Koulibaly makes up ground as he turns and just manages to get something on it and away. 8:28PM 26 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea 26 minutes into a Man City game and I've not mentioned Erling Haaland once.
If that doesn't tell you that a World Cup is around the corner then nothing will. Both teams could do with a natural finisher like him on the pitch though. Haaland is on the City bench Credit: AP 8:26PM 25 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea City exploit the right side of Chelsea again. Ziyech isn't tracking back leaving Gomez and Grealish to taunt Loftus-Cheek. They get the better of RLC but the ball across the box doesn't find a man and is cleared. 8:25PM 23 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea Laporte is down after that Pulisic shot, seemingly getting a knock from the Chelsea's foot when he took the shot. He's up and hopefully okay. 8:24PM 22 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea The 'LeBron James of soccer' picks the ball up on the left and surges to the City goal, Lewis Hall makes a nice decoy run to take the defender away before Pulisic cuts inside and left a right footed shot fly. Ortega parries the ball away but that was a brilliant effort from the American forward. Pulisic starts strong 8:23PM 21 mins: Man City 0-0 Chelsea A Chelsea cross from the right goes begging with nobody gambling on it and making the run.
8:55PM England injury watch No injuries so far. Grealish and RLC intact. Let's hope this continues. 8:52PM Grealish the star so far We're only 45 minutes in but it's clear that Man City miss their talismanic, superstar cyborg striker, with City playing a number of low balls across the box that their number nine would have feasted on. Grealish has been the best player on the pitch in this first half, looking dangerous whenever he has the ball and forcing Chelsea defenders to make a choice. His partnership on the right flank with Sergio Gomez has been a real highlight.
It changed the dynamic of City and they were ahead in their next wave of attacks. Riyad Mahrez was the instigator, attacking Chelsea defenders and wriggling around challenges until Trevoh Chalobah hacked at him on the edge of the area. Having won the free-kick, Mahrez took the set-piece and got it through the wall into the empty side of the net, with neither Koulibaly or Armando Broja covering themselves in glory with their work in the defensive wall. Julian Alvarez added to the scoreline, making it three games in a row on the scoresheet. After spreading the play wide to Mahrez with a long pass, he made his way to the penalty area where he tapped in after Edouard Mendy had palmed away.
