Yad VaShem

Yad VaShem is the world's first holocaust museum, and the first museum built in Israel. It's also a resource center for studying the history, personalities, politics and education of the holocaust. But it's also used for something else---when the rabbis are trying to trace a recent oleh, or a convert's roots, they use the same data base and archives that Yad Vashem provides for genealogy.
